Hey folks, I'm Ashleigh, a performer who's been quite happily working away in West End, Regional and International Theatre for over 15 years, in shows such as Nativity the Musical, Cool Rider and Wicked. I'd just opened in Only Fools and Horses the Musical, when, 5 weeks into the contract we were forced to close. Not being the type of person who can just sit around, I looked for a way to not only channel my creativity but to keep myself from going insane! Over the years, I’ve become known to many fellow company members as ‘Crafty B***h’, owing to my constant need to create, craft & cook for every opening night, press night and birthday going! When our theatre closed, I turned my craftiness initially to making face masks for my family and friends, several of whom were vulnerable/shielding. After many lovely compliments, I decided to take the plunge, expand and set up an Etsy shop and so Crafty Ashleigh was born. Thankfully, the Face Masks began flying off the virtual shelves, so I decided to develop more lines for the shop, when it became clear that I wouldn't be going back to my dressing room anytime soon! Crafty Ashleigh Shop produces mostly fabric based gifts: personalised jewellery pieces, key fobs, make up bags etc, but I've also managed to rope my husband and fellow actor @markmcgeephotos in, to not only do all the product photography for the shop but also make bespoke unique photograph based gifts.
