Hi, I’m Jo the designer/maker behind @LilliputWight.
I’ve been working in theatre as a DSM for around 15 years. This has mostly been in regional theatre but I’ve been lucky enough to work on a range of shows from children’s shows to rock and roll panto and even touring Shakespeare internationally.
Between jobs you can find me at home on the Isle of Wight where I live just around the corner from the beach. I draw inspiration for my work from the coastal landscape of the Island, from the colours of sea and sky to the use of natural materials. Glass and wood worn soft and smooth by the power of the sea is made into buttons, necklaces and pictures. Continuous coils of cotton rope are formed into simple bowls finished with a band of colour or a driftwood handle. Cosy cushions featuring coastal colours and motifs are made on my vintage knitting machine.
